The car runs good and has no mechanical problems. We have just decided to move up to a minivan. There are two cosmetic problems: there is a crack in the windshield and there is flaking paint around each of the wheel wells. The crack in the windshield runs under the passenger side wiper. We have had it inspected twice since it formed and had no problems. It is well out of normal viewing space. The paint around the wheel wells seems pretty indicative of this year of Grand Am. I think I have had to replace the brakes a little more frequently than other cars I have owned (I just changed them this fall). We have owned the car for about four years and have had no major problems with it. You are welcome to see all of the maintenance records.
The high mileage is mostly highway (long road trips to see parents).
Since my snow tires don't fit the new minivan I will throw them in as well
(this is their second winter).
